  • Do you have any tips on how to raise funds?

Of course! Here are some helpful tips:

    • Set a goal: Your goal should be ambitious, but achievable. Share that goal with everyone you ask to donate.
    • Get the word out: If you are active on social media platforms like Facebook, Twitter and Instagram, use them to get your message out. Post about the event and why you are participating. Provide a link to your fundraising page so your family, friends, colleagues and everyone you know can easily donate online.
    • Dare to ask: Not being asked is one of the main reasons why Quebecers don't donate to a charity. Don't hesitate to ask, people are generous.
    • Invite your friends and family: When you meet someone who is moved by your story, ask them to consider registering and participating to the Defibrose Mont-Sainte-Anne.
    • Say thank you: When you receive a donation, quickly thank the person who supported you by sending them a personalized email or text message, a handwritten card or by calling them directly. They will be more likely to support you again in the future if you thank them in a personalized way.
    • Emails: Send an email to your family, friends, colleagues, neighbors and anyone else you know asking them to sponsor you with a donation. Provide them with a link to your fundraising page and instructions on how to donate. The key to the success of your email is to ask for a specific amount. Don't forget to follow up with a phone call!
    • Local Businesses: Reach out to businesses that you have a close relationship with and ask them to support you. A good place to start is definitely your employer and your pharmacist!
    • Show your colours: While training, wear clothing with the Cystic Fibrosis Canada logo, your team name or a picture of the person you are participating for, etc. and tell everyone what you are doing. See if complete strangers can support you.
    • Use the hastag #MSA4CF on all of your fundraising promotions!
